First 'eco-friendly' convenience store to open in Wisconsin (from Biztimes Daily and the Small Business Times)
Good to Go, which bills itself as the nation's "first ecologically friendly convenience store, car wash and alternate fuel station," will open its first location in Grand Chute on May 1. The store will be built to specifications of the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) program. The car wash will use a water cleaning and reclamation system, bio-friendly detergents, efficient LED lighting and a green roof with plants and sod. More …

Dell Global Headquarters Campus Going 100 Percent Green
Dell is now powering 100 percent of its 2.1 million square-foot global headquarters campus, home to more than 10,000 employees, with 100 percent green power, the latest step in meeting the company’s 2008 carbon neutral commitment. “It’s time for our industry to take a lead role in creating a clean energy future,” said Paul Bell, president, Dell Americas. “Today, we are challenging every technology company to work with their suppliers and partners in integrating green power and energy-efficient strategies into their operations.”

ASQ Poll Shows U.S. Companies Lag in Social Responsibility
A Harris Poll indicates 70% of Americans don’t trust big companies. An American Society for Quality (ASQ) poll of Fortune 500 companies reveals that while 96 percent of U.S. business leaders think their company’s corporate social responsibility behavior will greatly impact the nation’s economic future, more than 40 percent still don’t have any policy in place to guide their company’s actions. Buenos Aires, Argentina mandates sustainability reporting
Companies with more than 300 employees will now have to produce sustainability reports, the city of Buenos Aires has just announced. From this month onwards companies affected will have to make annual sustainability reports based on their social, economic, and financial sustainability. This development follows in the footsteps of the recent announcements by both the Swedish and Chinese governments, who have both mandated sustainability reporting for state owned companies. More …
