Position Description

Title: Consulting Scientist/Engineer

Location: Pewaukee, WI

Summary: BL3 Strategies seeks a customer service driven individual to plan and implement activities related to corporate sustainability. Applicants should have prior consulting/industrial background related to energy, water, waste and/or air with the ability to work with clients in developing evaluation plans, setting goals and developing out-of-the-box solutions to capturing savings from reduction of energy/natural resource consumption as well as other sustainability initiatives and/or cost saving opportunities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Work with client managers to implement sustainability policies and procedures consistent with the organization’s vision/strategy/overall sustainability platform.
• Understand and maintain current knowledge on relevant environmental regulations, trends, industry practices, ecological-friendly products and competitive practices impacting client organizations.
• Collect, evaluate and disseminate pertinent information relating to environmental management and a client organization’s environmental footprint.
• Analyze evaluation results and propose client-specific solutions that will meet their sustainability and/or cost saving goals.
• Assist with and conduct audits to measure progress and assess compliance with client company sustainability policies and goals; assist in determining and implementing corrective actions.
• Lead efforts in collecting information required for corporate transparency reporting (e.g. Global Reporting Initiative).
• Participate in client planning and management teams to continuously identify opportunities for sustainability process improvements.
• Serve as a resource to client companies for communicating sustainability practices to stakeholders.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelors Degree (BA/BS) in engineering or related environmental sciences required. Masters Degree (MA/MS) and/or additional experience a plus.
• Minimum of 3-5 years environmental consulting experience in sustainability-related programs, such as environmental management systems.
