Representative Project Experience
Sustainable Development
Embraced sustainable development principals in corporate governance of Natural Resource Technology. Formed corporate Green Team that contributed to annual energy savings of approximately $1.00/ft2 of office space and reduction of corporate CO2 emissions of almost 10,000 lbs. Business Risk Management
Assisted numerous companies in assessment of environmental business risks related to waste and natural resource management issues, property transfers, business mergers/acquisitions, contaminant releases and migration, regulatory agency liaison and insurance cost recovery.
Water Resources
Project Director for the remedial investigation conducted for the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WDNR) on the 39-mile Fox River corridor and Green Bay evaluating the magnitude and extent of PCB impacts in sediments.
Property Redevelopment/Brownfields
Provided technical review of environmental issues for numerous property transactions involving commercial and industrial properties throughout Wisconsin, representing buyers, sellers and financial institutions. Provided clients and their legal counsel with visibility to environmental issues and liabilities, evaluated remediation strategies and costs, advised on strategies for allocation of risk among the transaction parties and assisted with regulatory agency liaison.
Contamination Assessments
Managed and/or directed numerous state and Federal enforcement-lead site investigations, feasibility studies and remedial actions across the U.S for sites regulated under the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (Superfund) and Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) and state programs. Sites included landfills, uncontrolled hazardous waste dump sites, industrial manufacturing facilities, Air Force bases, and Naval Weapons Stations, former manufactured gas plant sites and rivers.
Project Manager for "SESOIL" computer simulations of petroleum hydrocarbon compound migration in the unsaturated zone. Simulation results were used by the WDNR in the development of soil quality standards in Chapter NR720 Wisconsin Admin. Code. Hydrocarbon/Underground Storage Tank (UST) Technical Director for assessment of UST technologies for the Electric Power Research Institute, Palo Alto, California. Assessments included reports for the Institute on state regulatory trends, monitoring technologies, tank repair and upgrading, cathodic protection and automatic tank gauging system technologies.
